Three Tuns
If you're looking for a quiet pub removed from the circus of student life, look no further than The Three Tuns. A traditional-style, unpretentious drinker's pub – but perhaps steer clear of the ration-era menu. With rotating casks of real ale, and cider without the urine-taint of Strongbow, you can easily pass our record-breaking eight hour stint there without even noticing. At this level of endurance, the smorgasbord of mini taster ales made us feel like giants holding a dwarf's tankard. The clientele is varied; from weekend tourists, to the usual 'pork-scratching' regulars (gristly, fat and truly British), but this pub has reliably delightful staff and a relaxed authenticity that makes you feel right at home.
