Ye Olde Starre Inne
Only recognisable by the sign sprawling across Stonegate, although at the weekend you're unlikely to miss the two 'man mountain' bouncers. It's not as much of a tourist trap as you'd expect from a pub with far more letters in its name than is strictly necessary. The little courtyard is more of a selling point than the 'view' of the Minster, which is not suitable for those suffering from neckache. Mainly frequented by locals and a few curious tourists. Despite being one of about seven oldest pubs in the city it doesn't actually feel olde worlde –just look at the drinks prices –futuristic.
