National Railway Museum

103 locomotives, 177 other items of rolling stock, and literally millions of railway related artefacts. Highlights include a collection of royal saloons dating back to the pre–Victorian era, the Mallard – the world's fastest steam locomotive – and the Shinkansen Japanese 'Bullet Train'. And for true enthusiasts, and I mean you'd really have to be into track–running transport to enjoy this, they even have a lock of Robert Stephenson's hair. Woah.
