We sampled luxury.
Itchy was charmed to the nines by the attentive waiter, as we took a lifetime to choose from the varied menu; Itchy are quackers about the duck in spicy plum sauce with spicy parsnip mash and would happily wolf that down for breakfast most mornings; whatevs bacon and egg baguette.
Good job the maternity trousers were on stand-by, as Itchy sampled divine salmon and lobster croquettes, tomato and mozzarella salad, a cream over loaded Black Forest trifle; washed down with a luxury champagne Mojito and a glass of house white; hic hic.
Variety is the spice of life, and Itchy hates eating the same meal more than once in a working week, so Brown’s cleverly selected range of lush treats means we can enjoy the finer things in life without experiencing dinner déjà vu. The ambience was just like Itchy’s 3rd cocktail of the evening; delicious, relaxing and left us wanting more.
While Itchy cannot afford to dine here every evening; we’d hate to cheat on our Sainsbury’s ready meals, Browns is definitely worth splashing the readies on for after work tipples or a romantic rendezvous; Itchy’s last date of burgers and laser quest went down like a lead balloon.
Situated a stone’s throw away from the city centre, and approximately 235 and a half steps from The Playhouse, Itchy feels safe in the knowledge that sorrows can be drowned should that three hour play be a total borefest.
Browns may be more Park Lane than Old Kent Road, but if you’ve passed go then Itchy highly recommends spending that dollar on a night of sophisticated bliss in Nottingham’s latest wine and dine establishment, dahling.
