Life Café (CLOSED)
Head to the Life Cafe if you like nursing an overpriced bottle while you stare blankly at a row of wall-mounted televisions, because that's all the weary clientele seem to expect round here. Best give it a miss unless you manage to catch one of the occasional decent gigs - Tom McRae, Midge Ure and ex-Sugababe Siobhan Donaghy have brightened the gloom before now. More my so-called life than the high life, it at least offers nice velvety drapes and big screens to add that flash of live venue luxury.
