Ladurée

The luxuriously Parisian Laduree café (flagship in Harrods – enough said) is one of Covent Garden Piazza's newest boasts. Their world-famous 'macarons' (said in pretentious French accent and God help you if you pronounce it 'macaroons') rang a bell, and at 6.30pm on an empty stomach, Itchy was all over that sugar high like a diabetic. And rather delighted to find that a mini macaron came in at £1.60. After much deliberation, we left clutching a paper bag of salty caramelly joy and plonked down onto a bench. Now, that macaron brought tears to our eyes. Real tears. Words cannot describe the euphoria that it brought to the City of Itchy. Of course, if you're in need of actual nosh you're probably better off nipping to Greggs, unless you want to fork out up to £20 for a beef sarnie or £24.50 for a salad. The teas and coffees aren't bad, though, all under £3. Just please, for Itchy, try the macarons. Just do it. Sorry, we're welling up again.
