The Lion and Unicorn
This new-fashioned gastropub is generic-eclectic, housing the kind of decor that wants to be gathered from antiques markets but is actually from Habitat, but looks lovely all the same. The brightly-coloured furnishings are less cheerful only than the staff, who look like they genuinely like being there, which made us like being there too. If we lived nearer we'd be round this joint at every available opportunity, and given that they've got a garden for sunny days and sofas for the rest, it'd be often. Thankfully it's not that close, as our income isn't nearly disposable enough to handle it.
