The Birds Nest
This is one of the few pubs in London that hasn't been taken over by an Irish chain and painted a dull cream. There's still an oval bar in the middle and nice wooden tables hugging the walls. Most nights of the week you'll find a loud punk band imploding in the corner, so Itchy spent a lot of time outside with local alcoholics. There's usually a small posse of art students smoking there and an old Routemaster bus parked next door. Inside it's a friendly place with good beers. There's also a small back room with a pool table that doesn't work, so it's nice to imagine that if it did work you could play pool there.
