Proving that vegan food isn't all sprouted beans and carrot sticks, this volunteer-run co-operative cuts through the multicoloured heart of Hackney with its raw enthusiasm for promoting a healthier, flesh-free lifestyle. Situated well off the beaten track but worth a visit for its homely and boho-veggie vibe, it also offers a book exchange, ever-changing arty walls and a hot, steaming fair-trade cup of whatever brew takes your fancy at very humane prices. Oh, and make sure you try the Pogo burger.
