Hyde Park Picture House

Stepping into the Hyde Park Picture House is like stepping back in time, with its velvet curtains and the ornate carvings on the balcony. Since opening in 1914 it has sold itself as ”the cosiest“ picture house in Leeds, and Itchy wouldn't argue with that. Few people go to the cinema for its architecture though, and the Hyde Park has survived, even thrived, while other cinemas have fallen by adapting its appeal. Yes, you can see the latest releases here, but the Hyde Park is the place in Leeds if you want to see foreign, art house and classic movies.
