Victoria Commercial Hotel
Fantastic traditional boozer, and one of the oldest pubs in the city –reinforcing the idea that things were better in the old days. This proper Yorkshire boozer serves several regional ales on tap and does reasonable food at lunchtime all served up in a huge main room the size of Queen Vic's bath chair. The staff are friendly, and the warm atmosphere will have you yearning for the simple pleasures of yesteryear –you'll probably go home and bath yourself in the kitchen sink.
