The Outsider
With stunning views of the Castle, stylish décor and a slightly
pretentious menu, The Outsider is a lot more popular than its name
would suggest. The setting and service cannot be faulted, but our last
dinner there was disappointingly hit and miss. Their desserts are
spectacular, but make sure your time slot isn't up before you've
guzzled the lot or you'll be clinging to your chocolate pot as they
usher you out of the door. Slightly quieter, but still with a
buzz, their lunch menu will allow you to have a reasonably sized
plate of gastro-grub and a small glass of wine for a tenner. And
you can take your time. Choose the chilli burger, and lunch like a
local.
