What emerged from the fertile club scene in Glasgow ten years ago has finally made it to the east coast – about bloody time, we say. Although purists are always going to say that the true Optimo experience can only be found at its native Sub Club, the Edinburgh offspring is rapidly gaining momentum. Veteran DJs Twitch and Wilkes are true masters of the mash-up, switching from soul to psychedelia to house to punk at the drop of a hat, so expect to hear the unexpected. Plus, they come with the Pitchfork seal of approval, which apparently by law makes them cool.
