Pivo Caffe Bar

A quick glance at some online tourist reviews for Pivo Caffe Bar provides a fairly perceptive insight; phrases such as 'hot bar staff', and 'hip as hell', abound, and Itchy must certainly agree. Pivo is a combination hipster haven and Jules Verne period drama, with largely brass décor creating an ambience that rivals some of Edinburgh's most iconic pubs. If your friends are too cool for places with beers you've heard of, or light, then Pivo cannot be missed.

Don't believe the promotional hype reviews by the owners. I will give you an honest review this is the worst pub in Edinburgh by far, some very unfriendly bar staff and all unfriendly clientele. Known to the locals as a dive. Czech themed in a stereotypical way with misspelled Czech murals. Highly attractive to foreigners who don't know any better unless you are Polish or part of some other ethnic clique you will be made to feel unwelcome. You will never see the same people in here twice this is what the bar lives on - a steady stream of foreign transients and unsuspecting tourists. It is nobody's local for a very good reason. Avoid at all costs.

A night in Pivo is as fun as having cancer.
