The Oxford Bar

Fans of Ian Rankin novels will recognise this as Inspector Rebus' local, but even if you aren't a mystery addict, you'll still find plenty to enjoy about this pub. No neon bar counters, exotic vodkas or people under the age of 50 here, but for that you get a boozer that's brimming with authenticity. Rest assured though, this isn't an old man's pub with three patrons who shoot you the evil eye if you're not a regular. Friendly chat abounds, there's a great selection of ales and plenty of old wooden chairs to settle into, if you can squeeze through the mob huddled around the bar.
