The Crags
If you've ever met, talked to, accidentally looked at or breathed the same air as a student at Edinburgh University, then no doubt you'll be familiar with The Crags. It's a bit out of town, but it's right next to Pollock Halls, where all the first years live. It's a Scream pub, so of course it looks like someone vomited it into existence; it's bright, garish yellow is enough to hurt your brain on a hungover morning. Having said that, if you own a Yellow Card, you can help yourself to cheap drinks and food during selected times. Maybe it is worth braving the blinding décor.

03 Jan 2010This pub turned the sound down when the English anthem played during an England Ireland rugby match and refused to serve my English boyfriend. I am Irish. This behaviour's not right.
