We'd love to buck the trend of a million and one rave reviews. In fact we're sure Ayutthaya has an entire encyclopaedic library of positive press and might even welcome the excitement of a bad review. Still, we'll be vilified by the obsessed Ayutthaya mafia if we so much as criticise the shape of their knives, so we'll stick with towing the party line for now. Not a tough job as this place is out of this world –gorgeous food, a serene vibe and polite yet friendly service. The banquet menus are top–notch and the Tom Kar Gai soup has to go down in history as the finest we've ever tasted. In fact if Ayutthaya was a cult we'd be first in the line for membership. Spot on and does takeaway too.
