Commplex
Commplex is one of the only places in town to offer an exclusive UK and US garage night, which is ideal to those who are sick of hearing chart bunnies singing about how great boys are. Originally known as Club Java, this converted church in Leith has a strict decent–only DJ policy, and it's great to hear jocks that can actually mix playing the tunes. Thursday's live jazz nights are always entertaining, and the 21st century disco nights will have you gaining free entry just for looking like Shaft. Commplex is one of the city's more alternative venues and as such slightly farther away from the centre. But, it's worth the trip if you can't stand another night of watching a room dancing to 'Dirrty'.
