The Philharmonic
Since being introduced to its new glitzy neighbours – Liquid et al – –the Philharmonic has undergone a change of image. Previously a hangout for Robert Smith lookalikes on their way to Metro's they're now attempting to appeal to the more discerning crowd with minimalist décor, luscious mezzanine seating, background lounge music and a decent choice of house wines. It seems a bit slow on the uptake though, and almost a bit Wetherspoon's in feel. Fine for a post work or Sunday drink, but not ideal for a Saturday night piss up.
