The Cat and Wheel
Its once smartish signage has been replaced with something that looks weirdly like it was drawn by a small child with a packet of crayons and using the wrong hand, but don't let that put you off. The Cat and Wheel on Cheltenham Road is great fun, with a ridiculously long-running pub quiz (if you so much as think about cheating, Itchy will make sure you live to regret it) and an impressive array of live music. Perhaps strangest and most entertaining of all is a tribute night dedicated to those great pioneers of cider swilling, The Wurzels. Only in Bristol. Combine Harvester was a corker.
