Club New York
This place shares no more similarity with the Big Apple than Brighton seafront does with a tropical beach. A refurbishment has erased memories of The Shrine, but the crowd's starting to show their age. It looks like a church from the outside, but once in it's far from heavenly. There's well–meaning intentions, everyone casually sipping cocktails looking cosmopolitan, but it's hard to achieve true style in a venue that's akin to someone's house. Music ranges from salsa and soul to house and garage.
