BBQ Nights at The Roof Gardens, Kensington

Got a special occasion coming up? Fancy a night out with all your
friends and family but don't want to faff about with cooking beforehand?
Why not head to The Roof Gardens to experience an outdoor coal fired barbeque 100ft above Kensington High Street? The barbeque grills will be fired up from 7pm until 10pm every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the summer until 6th October 2012 (with additional dates on Thursday 2nd and 9th August 2012).
Itchy was lucky enough to experience the feast for ourselves, complete with live music from 'The Essentials' (we think we fell in love with each and every one of them - especially the cute and enthusiastic guitarist). They will be back for future evenings, along with a host of other bands - check out the lineup on the Roof Gardens website.
We were impressed by the huge range of meat, seafood and vegetarian options on offer and took great delight in piling our plates high with freshly cooked food (our eyes were bigger than our stomachs!). The highlight, however, had to be the dessert buffet... meringues, tarts, a huge martini glass filled with fresh cream, chocolate sauce and brownies... Itchy was in pudding heaven. (We actually had dreams about it that night - true story.)
Itchy was unfortunate with the weather, but even though it was a little chilly we were perfectly warm thanks to waiters bringing blankets and brilliant outdoor heaters - we almost forgot it was grey and cloudy! We can't guarantee that you won't have the same disappointing British weather, but we can assure you that you'll be kept warm by the attentive staff (and the wine).
Tickets are £60 per person on a Friday and £65 per person on a Saturday (members’ discount applies) and includes a glass of Pimms on arrival and club entry afterwards - we reckon a night out could add up to far more in much less exciting places. (But we won't name names...!)
Guests can head inside to the club from 10pm, where the resident summer DJs promise to keep the party going until 3am. Or continue to explore the 1.5 acres of beautiful gardens as the perfect way to round off the evening. The whole event feels like a wedding - but one where you don't have to avoid Uncle Derek, compliment the bride or feel like you're never going to find the love of your life. Ideal.
