The Big Red Pizza

It's on a bus!

Review

Bored of the same old city eateries? Sick of sitting down for yet another beer in yet another mediocre Central London restaurant? Well, you're in luck, because Itchy is about to make your day a lot more exciting and delicious by introducing you to the Big Red Pizza.

The bad news is that it's a bit of a trek and you have to sit on the DLR (infinitely cooler in temperature and looks than the tube though) to Deptford and walk three minutes down the road. But the good news starts here and keeps on coming...

Because the Big Red Pizza is a fully intact, totally renovated, double decker London Bus with bus seats, bus windows and bus stairs. The tables are simple and numerous but come in sets of four so don't take an odd number of people. The novelty of eating a full three course meal in the front seats of a bus doesn't wear off for hours. Itchy scoffed the pizza in seconds and then refused to leave.

Luckily the Big Red is also a bar and does some fantastic Pimms and Sangria for the summer weather (when it's around, anyway). Order a drink and get the staff to recommend a dish as they're all experts, with the kind of easy and approachable manner that is missing on public transport today.

So if you want to spend the day being a giant five year-old (one that can drink and order seconds without being told off) on your own big red bus, then jump on the train at the first sign on sunshine, because it's going to get full up fast now Itchy has told everyone about it.

It's also great that you can follow them on Twitter at @BigRedDeptford for updates on their film events, live music, bingo, quiz nights and comedy.
