Boys! Hitch up your skirts and hold on to your hair for the Great Drag Race 2012, to help raise awareness for the killer that is prostate cancer. Taking place on Higbury Fields on June 30, Prostate Action are running the 10.2km in the most stylish dress and wig they can find...

But it's not all about looking pretty... Every kilometre is there for one of the 10,200 lost to the disease last year. Every age, shape and size will be running and Itchy bets every single last one of them will trip over their hemlines. Honestly, men think it's soooo easy to run for a bus in high heels... Let's see how they fare in flats and feather boas, shall we?

The 'race' starts at 1:30pm and the last entrants must arrive before noon in order to get their make-up looking perfect and check all their accessories. Here's a quick tip for you - don't match your lipstick to your cardigan... It may work for your mother, but trust us, it won't work for you.

Itchy has been promised celebrity appearances, a bar and an all-afternoon party, til 6, but we're going to watch the attempt to break the Longest Line of Dancing Drag Queens record, held by... the Great Drag Race 2011.

Maybe next year we can have an Itchy team if the girls - who seem to make up an unreasonably high percentage of our staff - can dress in large suits and ties. You can register for the race for just £10 and more information can be found on Facebook and on Twitter at @GreatDragRace.
