DVD Release: Nigel Slater's Toast
Competition
We're pretty impressed with Nigel Slater. If we'd had Helena Bonham-Carter for an evil stepmother, there's no way we'd've made it to 13 without losing our marbles and yet, here he is: all grown-up and capable with TV programmes and books and films and food. Oodles of food(les).
Toast is the story of Nigel's childhood and adolescence, charting the pleasantness and unpleasantness he encounters as he grows up, set against a consistently food-obsessed backdrop.
Watch as he battles it out with evil stepmother Mrs Potter to bake the biggest, most delicious lemon meringue pie possible in the fight for his father's affections, and grows into the kind of man who gets to cook (and write) for a living.
This memoir is a love story: to the sixties, to food, and to childhood, and it's coming out on DVD on 28th March.
We're giving you an extra-special treat by giving you the chance to win one of two Toast sets, comprising both the original novel and the DVD, so you can completely immerse yourself in Nigel's delicious world.

This competition closes on 4th April 2011.
